The Best Way to Style a Non-Basic, White Midaxi Dress

The Best Way to Style a Non-Basic, White Midaxi Dress

I don’t think I’ve ever followed the “no white after Labor Day” rule, but as I was brainstorming this post, I figured I’d actually look up why it was supposedly a rule to begin with. In short, it was another way to differentiate the rich from the poor. If you wore white after Labor Day, it meant you had the financial means to take a Fall or Winter vacation, whereas if you were only able to take that one vacation during the Summer, it was the norm to lock all that white up until the following Spring.

Crazy, right?

Not wearing white after Labor Day is quite literally broke energy. If that’s not the vibe you’re trying to give off then I suggest you start incorporating your Spring / Summer whites into your cold weather wardrobe this year.

All I have to say is those damn Facebook ads get me far more often than they should. Like girl, you know I’m a sucker for puff sleeves and an open back and my bank account balance is low - why are you tempting me? Knowing good and well I can split that payment into four and feel like I only paid $25. $100 really is a little much for me to spend on a dress, but unfortunately that’s the norm for Showpo and it’s one of my favorite stores to shop at. On the bright side, at least I know I’m getting good quality.

If I could use one word to describe how I wanted to accessorize this dress, it would be “fun”. I wanted colorful, unique pieces that would add just enough flavor to this look. There was a brief trial and error period where I tried a few different pairs of shoes and earrings, but ultimately the other pairs of shoes that I tried were a little too much for this dress. That’s how I decided on wearing my strappy, orange heels from EGO. I’d already purchased the blue clutch to go with the shoes that I originally thought I was going to wear, but since I adored it so much, I ordered a pair of earrings that had both orange and blue in them.

I think it’s pretty self explanatory why they’re now my new favorite pairs of earrings.

I couldn’t leave my fingers and wrists hanging, though, so I bought a variety pack of rings, bracelets, and necklaces from Amazon. The necklace that I’m wearing as well as the bracelet on my left are gifts from my hubby, so they’re excluded from the variety pack.

All items in this section are from Amazon, so just in case y’all forgot, I am an Amazon Associate, and I do earn commission on purchases that are made through those links.
