7 Days of Valentine's Day Looks: Day 1

7 Days of Valentine's Day Looks: Day 1

First and foremost, Happy Black History Month!

Second, and still very much important, happy first day of my new mini series - 7 days of Valentine’s Day looks!

I wish I could fully express how excited I am for the upcoming week, because the looks I’ve been cooking up in the kitchen, formally known as my closet, aren’t even the slightest bit short of fire. Take them for a little inspiration for your Valentine’s/Galentine’s date, or for any of the other 364 days of the year.

Trust me, you’ll be able to wear these looks once Valentine’s Day is long gone.

Not to be Spoiler Sandy, but this is as casual as you’ll see me over the course of the next 7 days. I’m wearing my brand new BOA jeans (that I had been waiting since Black Friday for) and I’m honestly obsessed with them. Being 5’3, they’re pretty long on me, but that just means I have a designated pair of non-skinny jeans to wear with heels. Before I even received them in the mail, I knew that I was going to wear them with this pink sweater from Zara, so I went the neutral route with shoes and wore these mid-calf booties from NastyGal. They’re marked down from $94 to $24 right now - not telling you to do anything but what you want with that information.

Keeping the casual theme going, I’m wearing mostly gold accessories that were purchased from Target, with the exceptions being my tri-tone MK watch and the fine jewelry that my husband has bought me. I wanted to do a little something different with my locs, so versus doing the basic half up, half down, I used a gold claw clip to pin up my ponytail. I’d be lying if I said it was easy to do or comfortable, but worth it? Absolutely. I know y’all really can’t see it that well, but I’ll be uploading a video on all of my socials today that’ll give you a better look. If I’m not mistaken, I bought it from TJ Maxx or Marshalls.

Lastly, we have the newest addition to my handbag collection. She’s the medium-sized Box Bag from Tote & Carry, specifically in the color neon pink. Though not the same shade of pink as my sweater, I like a little monochromatic action, so it set this look off perfectly. There aren’t too many occasions that you can’t wear something like this - keep it in mind the next time you’re going to brunch, dinner, a casual social event, or just feel like being cute. It’s 2023, we don’t need a reason.

Day 2 coming in hot tomorrow, see y’all then!

Fashionably Yours,

DL
